Deutsch wedgelocks are secondary locking components used within many Deutsch connector housings. Their purpose is to ensure contacts remain properly seated and aligned after assembly.
Once contacts are inserted into a connector body, the wedgelock is installed to provide an additional retention mechanism. This helps prevent terminals from backing out due to vibration or mechanical stress during operation.
Wedgelocks are commonly used across the DT connector family including DT, DTM and DTP series connectors. Selecting the correct wedgelock ensures proper connector assembly and long term electrical reliability in harsh environments.
